Gone in minutes! Family loved this. I didn't put tortillas on bottom in fear of becoming soggy.Added jalapenos on only 1/2 the side over salsa for my son who loves oestrus. Served with bowls of shredded lettuce, chopped tomatos, sour foam, guacamole, and the SCOOP tortilla chips! No silverware even needed for this quick and easy dish. You can also spoon some on a flour tortilla and roll it up like a burrito. Thank you for the not bad recipe!
03/05/2008
While the meat cooked, I fabricated a package of yellow rice and used that as a layer for a little more than "substance". Being 8 months pregnant and peckish something mexican, this hit the spot!
09/06/2002
Tasty and elementary to brand. I put chopped fresh tomatoes and sour foam on acme and served with torilla chips. Likewise served a salad and had a complete meal. The adjacent day, we cut small pieces, approx. 1" x iii", heated them in the microwave, then placed them on large tortilla wraps, sprinkled a little cheddar cheese, tomatoes and sour foam, rolled them upwardly and had instant burritos. They were even improve this way!
05/04/2001
Quick and like shooting fish in a barrel dinner that takes few ingredients and little effort.
04/16/2008
great recipe. you can easily lighten this recipe, substituting basis turkey. layer with corn tortillas, adds more flavour and cobweb. freezes well.
04/16/2008
This is really great and piece of cake. I layer it with flour tortillas by spreading the tortilla with the beans and and then get-go the layering procedure ending with cheese on elevation. You tin can add corn or black olives for more multifariousness.
04/16/2008
Then good and easy likewise! Meridian with sour foam and black olives. Crawly! I have to brand a suggestion though. Don't use the prepackaged taco seasoning. You've gotta endeavor the recipe for "taco seasoning I" from this sight. Information technology MAKES It!!
09/23/2001
Easy, tasty and quick.
02/24/2008
This was SO easy, and very tasty. I followed the recipe exactly and was very happy with the result. I knew it was a hitting when my very picky husband suggested that nosotros have the leftovers the very next night. He loved it. Be sure to apply a quality salsa that yous dear, because it is the prominent flavor in the dish.
06/xiii/2003
I made this for a political party, and everyone loved it! The next time I make it, I volition use a balmy or hot salsa. I would similar a little bit more zip. I added a terminal layer of sour cream, sprinkled with light-green onions and added a light-green onion garnish. This went fast!
11/26/2007
this was pretty basic. i added a poblano, onion and garlic to the meat. i also spread the beans on the bottom of the dish rather than trying to put it over the meat. I wish I would take made rice and put that as a layer in there. I topped it with shredded lettuce, black olives, sc and cilantro
06/07/2007
Swell! Made an 8x8 instead of the 9x13. Only one change: added 3 tortillas, lesser, middle and elevation, serving like a lasagna. Used a little less salsa and seasonings because my new husband is a spice plume-weight. He ate the whole matter (minus my piece) during our day off together. Acme-notch and soooo easy!!
02/06/2003
I love to brand my leftover taco bakes into taco salads with the addition of corn chips and russian dressing. I know the combination sounds odd, but it actually is succulent. I usually don't add together refried beans to mine..just I exercise have them on the side. What'due south mexican nutrient without the beans??Thanks Leslie.
04/19/2008
This is very similar to my mom's taco goulash, but she unrolls and pats out a tin can of refrigerated crescent roll dough in the bottom of the casserole and tops the shredded cheese with crushed taco fries. I'd give it a five star with these (absolutely caloric) additions. We like to add chopped light-green chiles and black olives, but that'due south a matter of individual sense of taste. It'south yummy either fashion!
04/22/2002
When I inquire the kids what they'd like for supper, they ever say,"Taco Bake!". They love this stuff. I run the salsa through the blender, because none of united states of america likes "chunks" in our nutrient. It's so easy that my x year erstwhile daughter made it for our family unit one night.
02/24/2001
Tastes only like tacos without the mess. Warm up the beans in the micro before spreading. My teenage son loves this fun nutrient!
10/04/2007
I was in a hurry to discover something simple and quick to feed the family when I constitute this recipe. My xiii twelvemonth old (aka the garbage disposal) could not become enough. My "particular" husband said to impress this one out and keep information technology. I did. Too, the recipe called for jar salsa, but I used some left over "spicey bean salsa" (from this site) and that only made it even better! Also, as some other review suggested, I layered crunched upwards tortilla chips on the lesser. This goes into the "family unit favorite" list at our business firm!
06/05/2007
Very elementary and tasty recipe! I used a tin of black beans instead of refried (drained only didn't rinse) and added about a 1/2 Cup chopped olives and a 1/2 Cup onions before the cheese layer. It would be good with some canned corn too I call up. I served information technology hot with a dollup of sour cream and chips on the side. It's delicious scooped up on a bit.
06/12/2002
I modified this recipe slightly. I didn't accept any salsa or refried beans. Instead, I used a blender to mix up a can of chili bens, a can of peeled and diced tomatoes, and a can of tomato sauce. I also added i cup of sour foam to the mixture. I also used cheddar and monterey jack cheeses. Turned out perfectly and VERY tasty. Definitely will brand this i once again.
02/11/2008
My family loved this i! I made a few changes. I added ane small chopped onion and likewise some broken up tortilla chips to the bottom of this. This is very easy to make. I know information technology was a sucsess as there was no leftovers!
05/19/2004
v stars w/ modifications. I put down a layer of crushed nacho Cheese Doritos, mixed the beans, taco seasoning, and beef together and spread it over, pureed a jar of mild salsa (we hate chunks) and spread it on superlative, then added another calorie-free layer of crushed Doritos and actress-sharp finely shredded Cheddar. Next time (and there will be 1!), I'll only use about 3/4 of the salsa - information technology was just slightly as well soupy. Excellent recipe base!
07/18/2002
What a great recipe. I made it the first time for a superbowl party this year. It seemed to exist well received, although I retrieve I liked it best out of everyone. It's so piece of cake to make, which is the best part. Sometimes I'll just make this for dinner and we'll sit down with a basin of chips and grub downwards. Never fails....
08/22/2000
This is a great recipe! Works for the whole family unit. Some tips, warm the beans equally mentioned by someone else. As well, buy mesomorphic salsa. If you use salsa with to much liquid it volition brand the last production runny. This is also good heated upwards the next solar day and wrapped in tortillas.
03/02/2008
This was very like shooting fish in a barrel to set up. I put sour cream on acme and used tortilla fries equally utensils. I will utilise this 1 again and maybe utilize less seasoning for my husband. He does not like it likewise spicey, but it was perfect for me.
04/17/2008
This was piece of cake and delicious. Came to me in my email but when I needed a practiced suggestion for ground beef. I added a layer of slightly crushed tortilla chips between the beef and refried beans. Was keen.
04/xvi/2008
**Low Carb Alternative** I have recently been reducing my carbohydrate intake and take found not bad culling. Instead of using the Beans you can use layers of frozen vegetables. I usually utilize a mix of carrots, zuchini, squash, cerise peppers, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower. (It all comes in the same bag) I also apply the vegetables as the base of operations layer instead of the meat, I then add the seasoned taco beefiness, cheese (taco flavored shredded is great!) and then I add the salsa. I keep to layer it and make my concluding layer cheese and broil it for well-nigh 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted. One time complete I add together little sour cream to the individual servings and it's delicious!! A bully meal for a working mom, without a lot of fourth dimension to ready dinner.
04/08/2003
This recipe is groovy we all enjoyed it I added a layer of diced green chiles and sour foam on the side thumbs upwardly from my kids
02/09/2008
My family loves this recipe! It is a great appetizer and also a great meal.
11/xxx/2011
I made this concluding night and the whole family loved it. I did make a couple of changes: I added a layer of crushed upward tortilla chips on the lesser, then the meat. I too combined the salsa with the beans and added some cheese, then spooned information technology over the meat. I topped it with the remaining cheese and bake until the cheese browns.
01/27/2003
What a great idea - sort of like tacos but in a dip! I topped the dip with tomatoes, lettuce and jalapenos and served sour foam on the side. I also added a can of Rotel tomatoes to the meat mixture. This was a hit with my family.

03/eighteen/2002
Very good, will make this again.
09/05/2011
My married man loves this since he is unremarkably on a low carb nutrition. :) The kids and I also dear it and ordinarily mix it with some rice and put it on tortillas. It is good equally written but you can jazz it up. My kids dear corn in it and kidney beans instead of the refried for a change. Either mode- this is proficient and easy and makes a filling meal with leftovers. If you don't want to put the rice in the casserole- merely serve information technology with Spanish Rice and Taco fixings on the side. Delicious!
04/xi/2011
cipher spectacular. good manner to empty the pantry.
09/02/2003
This is a skilful and filling dish. There isn't anything really special about it, but the fact that information technology tastes good and takes hardly any time to make is outstanding. I added light-green chiles like others, and actually omitted the beans. I added taco sauce to the leftovers, and it tasted fifty-fifty amend!!
04/13/2011
This was really great and SUPER like shooting fish in a barrel! Like throw together in a minute easy!!! Served on warmed tortillas or over nacho chips! Yummy!
02/25/2003
What a hit. This went then fast and information technology was such an piece of cake appetizer to ready! When layering in the pan I found it hard to spread the beans over the beef. I mixed the two and so finished layering. This is a keeper.
03/07/2007
Really good party food! I layered lettuce, tomatoes, diced onions, black olives, and jalepenos on top. Served with tortilla chips, sour cream, and actress salsa on the side. Everyone devoured this in minutes.
03/21/2007
I probably shouldn't even exist rating this, since I inverse the recipe then much, but I recollect others might like these changes likewise. I used ground turkey, Old El Paso cheesy taco mix (added h2o per packet directions,) and used boxed spanish rice instead of the beans (family doesn't like beans.) With these changes, the taco bake was delicious! Served with sour foam and low fat tortilla chips. I think the regular recipe would exist 5 stars as well!
05/01/2002
This was ok, found it to be a trivial on the dry out side. wont make this again, I prefer and and so does my finace the Taco Pie over this i.
10/04/2003
This was pretty good. I browned onions with the basis beefiness and added black olives and a can of chiles. I served with sour foam and tortilla chips. It was a quick easy recipe which I will probably brand again.
07/25/2009

08/10/2003
This dish was a big hit with the whole family.. Anybody couldn't become enough of information technology.. I will definitely exist making this dish once more.. thank you
03/25/2005
Delicious! Used footing venison and a chunky pico (I created using canned tomatoes with green chilies!). Very simple to put together. We ate it the first night as a dip with white corn chips. I rolled leftover portions into flour tortillas, sprinkled with some cheese, then baked them in the oven. Nosotros liked the 'burritos' better.
05/08/2003
This is a tasty and piece of cake recipe. I did not add the salsa. After it baked and I let information technology sit down for a few minutes I served it with bowls of salsa, sour cream, green onion on the side. Served with the Baked Tortilla Fries from this site. Excellent Mexican dinner. Thank you
07/25/2011
I added crushed fries, sour foam and guacamole. Very easy to brand, which is prissy subsequently decorated solar day.
eleven/08/2000
This recipe went over big with my honey. I added chopped onions with the footing beef. Before putting in 13 ten 9 blistering dish, I added a small can of Mexicorn. This really added to the recipe. I used medium, chunky salsa. I served it with warm, plain tortilla chips. I take been asked to make this recipe again for a gathering this weekend. Savor!
11/23/2010
A very quick, easy and yummy recipe. This is a overnice twist to our usual Taco Tuesday dinner. I added a can of corn and some black olives, which I will do once again next time.
04/20/2008
This was cracking. I served it with corn chips for a fast dinner one night and information technology was gobbled up. Information technology was fifty-fifty skilful as a left over for lunch. Overnice for those busy evenings when you demand to slip something in the over quickly after existence out at sporting events all evening.
09/02/2010
I love to try new recipes rather than making the same dishes over and over. There is a joke in my house that if my family unit says they like it, then I don't practice it again (of grade that is not true). My husband said this last dark later on the commencement bite! It was wonderful! The only modify I fabricated was to spray the lesser of the pan with olive oil spray and and so put two tortillas on the bottom and spread the beans on top (as someone had suggested), spread half the meat, then the salsa, and repeated the layers. Put the cheese on top. I volition be adding this to my own "recipe" book! Thanks for the recipe.
01/29/2001
A large hit with my husband! I added chopped onions to the hamburger, used a cheddar/Monterey Jack cheese mixture, and cooked it a niggling longer at 350 degrees. Adjacent time I will add a layer of chopped black olives.
10/21/2000
THIS WAS A Groovy RECIPE, I USED Information technology Every bit A BEGINNER TO SPORTS GATHERINGS WHICH As well INCUDES HOT WINGS, POTATOE SKINS ETC. It WAS A Large HIT... JACKIE
03/15/2011
This was very good and very quick. The but matter I did unlike was not calculation the salsa until afterward it cooked. I dont care for warm salsa, simply a personal choice.
05/20/2008
This is so delicious! My family gets so excited when I make this and the whole matter gets eaten every fourth dimension! I changed but a few things. I added a 1/two onion, finely chopped to the footing beef every bit it was browning, an actress tin of refried beans and just 1/2 a jar of salsa and make it in a 9X9 pan. This amount is good for a family of iv. For more people, add 1 lb of ground beefiness, apply 2 taco seasoning packets, one jar of salsa, one onion, make it in a 9X13 dish & always use lots of cheese!
01/11/2002
This i is dandy! I added green chilis in the ground beef. I besides crunched tortilla chips on my plate and mixed it together with lettuce shreds on top.
02/12/2001
My husband love it & he is non easy to delight. Thank You for an easy recipe & it taste great. Emily
02/08/2005
I made this for Super Basin. Everyone raved virtually it. I topped it with olives, dark-green onions, tomatoes and extra cheese. It was slap-up! Side by side time I think I volition mix the beans with the meat.
10/03/2005
This is very good and so piece of cake to make. I'm not sure why other reviews say information technology's "runny", because I had the opposite problem: mine turned out very substantial. The changes I made were using very lean ground beef and cheddar cheese. Adjacent time I think it would be good to add together a layer of chopped fresh tomatoes or diced canned tomatoes. I would make this once more. Cheers!
02/06/2011
I put jalapenos on mine and it was great served with tortilla chips. I fabricated a taco salad out of it.
01/04/2004
This was very easy to make. My husband, myself and my older daughter liked it and all had seconds. The younger wouldn't eat it, simply information technology's difficult to observe annihilation she'll eat. I did make a few changes. I used a tin can of calorie-free red kidney beans instead of the refried beans and I added two numberless of the boil in a bag rice earlier I baked it to give it more than substance.
11/10/2002
Cracking Recipes!! Good snack for subsequently school or work.
08/19/2010
Based on some other reviewer addition, I also added rice. Plus I tossed in a can of corn. It was incredible the way my family liked it! I served it with both tortillas (for burrito style) and blue corn tortilla chips.
02/10/2012
Easy to brand and delicious! Boys loved it!!
eleven/xiv/2000
This is really good with tortilla chips! My husband and I both liked it!
03/15/2003
So piece of cake and tasty! Would be perfect for a pitch-in or buffet. I used the taco seasoned shredded cheddar cheese for extra season, and sprinkled some crushed dried cilantro on top to perk up the appearance and flavor. Elevation with sour cream later serving. Utilise the new Gold tortilla fries that are actress sturdy for dipping or utilise the tortilla scoop or frito scoop chips for all-time results.
08/29/2010
Expert, elementary and homey feeling food. Tasted to me just similar the inside of a burrito, but the whole family loved it. I served it with Mexican Edible bean Salad from this site that is loaded with corn and bell peppers and then information technology was a nice combination. Thanks for the recipe :)
01/xix/2002
a playoff game special. my husband & his friends loved it.
08/03/2011
Taco Bake I Haiku: "Pretty sloppy repast. Only wow did it gustatory modality awesome! (Serve with rice or chips.)" This was a really liquid-ey, hard dish to serve, so when I make it again, I'd plan on eating it over rice, or crumbled tortilla chips, or maybe scooped w/ a slotted spoon into tortillas. I used refried Black beans, a mexi-alloy of cheese, and added a piddling sauteed garlic and onions to the meat. No major additions or substitutions, so I experience confident in calling this recipe an easy, tasty, (admitting, messy) dinner that I'd gladly prepare again.
12/12/2001
This recipe was great! It was another fashion to serve my favorite - tacos!
04/sixteen/2008
I accept made this for years--and I idea I invented information technology. lol. I have e'er included a couple layers of corn tortillas drizzled with a little canned enchilada (crimson) sauce. I dear cat's thought of the rice tho. It had never occurred to me. I will try information technology next time with brown rice--Trader Joe's has a precooked/shelf-stable ane in vacuum bags that will cut a huge ammt of time. Thanks for the dandy ideas anybody.
09/30/2010
I only had a pound of ground beef so used that and only had about a half a jar of salsa so used that all also. We all actually enjoyed this. I bought the Scoops and placed the filling in each scoop and topped with cheddar and heated in the oven to melt the cheese. Nosotros all loved them.
01/xx/2012
Delicious, I simply mixed everything instead of layering.
02/15/2002
YUM! one of our favorite recipes. i make this in an 8x8 square dish, double the beans and cut fashion down on the meat. I use turkey instead of beef. We similar it with shredded lettuce and sour foam.
10/24/2003
It tasted a scrap too much like chili. My kids liked information technology with crackers. For the lack of effort to make, it was wonderful!
09/06/2002
Easy & tasty. I used undrained chili beans instead of refried beans, and served finished production individually with shredded lettuce and a dollop of sour cream.
01/08/2001
Very Easy. Everyone wanted the recipe, they couldn't believe how unproblematic information technology was. Even the pickey eaters liked information technology. I used medium chunky salsa and it turned out dandy.
04/18/2008
Fabricated this today for a pot luck - it was OK but not a giant hit. After tasting it I decided that if I make this again I volition saute some garlic and onion with the meat. I used more taco seasoning than called for just the meat still needed some more flavor. The merely other change I made this time was to throw some sliced black olives on top.
12/19/2011
I used basis turkey, low-cal colby jack cheese and fatty free refried beans to lighten it upward. Since I was baby sitting a friends kids I let them apply this as a dip with multigrain totsitios. Information technology was tasty but I was at a loss as to what to serve with it. I will use it equally a hot dip merely itsn't practicle as a main dish.
04/19/2008
This is a good basic starter recipe. I used a mix of chopped jalapenos, red and black beans for the bottom layer. Then added the rice mixed with the enchilada sauce, so layered the hamburger spiced with chili powder, garlic pulverisation, and ground cumin(smells and tastes just similar taco seasoning). This gives the gustatory modality of taco seasoning without the orange oily, greasy taste, and all the additional chemicals. I topped information technology with cheddar and cooked it in the oven until it was hot and the cheese melted. Then I just added some chopped onion, salsa, lettuce and sour cream for the toppings. My dad only couldn't get out it alone. I served information technology with chips on the side. It's non the most nutritious thing, but it's non junk food either and it cooks upwards speedily, and some nights that'due south what you demand.
02/20/2000
Easy to make - and my married man loved it! It was keen with tortilla chips!
06/13/2010
I give this a four star rating for chip dip, but this is not an entree by any ways. Yummy scrap dip though :-)
01/24/2001
What a bully recipe. Didn't try it on whatever kids but recollect they would love that. You could easily put lettuce and tomatoes on top.
05/22/2000
This wouldn't please the yuppie gourmets only my grandchildren loved it, and best of all they were able to make it themselves.
01/twenty/2011
Information technology was real good. I used taco sauce instead of salsa. next time will apply salsa.
07/10/2007
My family gobbled this up final night! I besides made a few minor modifications - my son hates refried beans, and then I replaced with blackness beans. Besides, I crunched up a few corn chips in the bottom of the pan before spreading the meat. Served with shredded lettuce, sour cream, and more than corn chips as garnish and they said MAKE THIS ONE AGAIN!!
05/03/2012
I made it just like it said.....but I served information technology with a lot of extras---shredded lettuce, diced fresh tomatoes, black olives, fresh avacado, sour cream! So delightful with all the trimmings! Similar a taco in a goulash.
03/20/2001
My kids liked this a lot, as did we. I thought it would be better with some lettuce or tomatoes and sour cream too as it is somewhat "heavy."
02/thirteen/2005
This is a great bones dinner. Kick it upwards a notch by adding chopped green chiles over salsa. Keeper : )
12/13/2002
I made this for a thanksgiving pitch-in at work. I idea I'd be able to take the leftovers to another gathering that evening, boy was I wrong! Then next fourth dimension that I fabricated this, though, I mixed the beans in with the meat. Much easier, and merely as tasty!
02/eleven/2001
I fabricated this for the showtime time last night for some friends, and everyone LOVED information technology! I added onions to the beef as some people suggested, and definitely heating the beans first was a good hint. Also added black olives. Served it with tortilla chips and guacamole on the side. YUMMY!
09/02/2000
My son loved this, he ate over half of the dish before anyone else had a chance to get plenty.
11/04/2001
Everytime I make Tacos, I accept some of the meat left over. From now on, I am going to freeze the left over meat and when I have enough I will make the Taco Bake.
03/08/2001
My young man loved it! I made information technology with castilian rice and served it in taco shells with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. Very piece of cake and quick...I will definitly make information technology once again.
